Week 1 : Basic Photography

Basic Knowledge

          We all know that nowadays it is easily to take a picture by using our mobile phone. Because our mobile camera lens quality is much better than before. The auto focus function is more comfortable for people to use . It makes people are likely to use their mobile to capture the beautiful moment . But I think those of people do not know the theory of how can the picture comes out and why that picture show in that bright or dark ,the background is clear or blurred. Those question are related to three main things, It is related aperture, shutter speed, iso…..

Aperture

In the picture, we can easily find out what is the different between aperture scale.

Large aperture

  • More light
  • Shallow Depth of Field (Focus)

Small aperture

  • Less light
  • Deep Depth of Field (Focus)

Shutter speed

Low Shutter Speed

  • Allows in more light
  • Longer exposure
  • Motion blur & camera shake
  • tripod needed

High Shutter Speed

  • Allows in less light
  • Shorter exposure
  • Freezes action
  • handheld easily

  • More light needed for “good” exposure
  • Less image noise/grain

  • More Sensitive to light
  • Will capture more light
  • Less light needed for”good” exposure
